民政党的中央局环境，安全与生活素质局主任谢顺海医生对最近于秋杰站附近发生的吉隆坡单轨火车轮胎爆破事故表示关注。他说虽然有关事故是一起不幸的意外，但是当局必须采取必要的措施，以避免类似事故重演。

 
 

"虽然我们可以理解，这类事故的发生或许是无可避免的，但这并不意味着单轨火车管理公司可等闲视之或推卸责任。特别是之前也曾发生类似的情况，包括于2012年于十五碑发生的事故，单轨火车上的乘客因为单轨火车发生故障而被困在车厢里长达两小时。"

 
 

同时也是吉打州德卡区州议员的谢顺海医生说，以上的事故显示当局还需作出更多的措施，以尽可能减少类似的事故重演。

 
 

"在这次的事故中，单轨火车驾驶员机警表现令人激赏，他的快速反应，确保了乘客的安全。此外，我希望救援列车可缩短其抵达时间，以纾缓乘客在事故中所需承受的折磨。"

 
 

他说，由于事故发生于下午六时三十分的繁忙时刻，特别是人们的下班时段，因此被困在车厢里的乘客人数肯定很多。

 
 

谢顺海提醒说："去年于十五碑发生的单轨火车故障事故，造成许多乘客被困在车厢里长达两小时没有新鲜空气，而导致部分乘客砸破镜子。"

 
 

"如果这类事故继续发生，它将影响马来西亚成为游客胜地的形象，因为我们不能排除当这不幸的事故发生时，会有外国游客身处其中。另外，它也加强马来西亚人民仍处于一个差劲的维修服务文化的刻板印象。"

 
 

最后，谢顺海医生促管理公司当局能够提升其单轨火车维修服务，以避免类似的事故再次发生。

The recent incident of a KL Monorail bursting of one of its tyres near the Chow Kit Station caught the eye of Gerakan's Central Bureau on Environment, Safety and Quality of Life Chairman, Dr Cheah Soon Hai. He said that while the incident can be considered as unfortunate, measures must be taken to prevent it from repeating.

 
 

"While it is understandable that accidents such as this are inevitable, that does not mean the managing company should shrug its shoulders and responsibilities. Previously there were similar cases where train passengers were stranded after the monorail broke down such as the incident in Brickfield's in 2012."

 
 

Dr Cheah, also Kedah Derga state-assemblyman said that the incident above demonstrates that more needs to be done to minimise this kind of incidents from recurring.

 
 

"The train driver did a marvellous job to ensure the safety of the passengers through his quick reflexes therefore it is highly commended. Also I hope that the response period for a rescue train can be shortened to relieve the ordeal of the passengers."

 
 

He remarked that since the incident happened at 6.30pm during peak hour, the amount of passengers trapped in the train will definitely be higher considering the fact that they just finish work.

 
 

"There was this incident that a monorail broke down in Brickfields last year leaving many passengers stranded up to two hours without fresh air forcing some of them to break the windows." remembered Cheah.

 
 

"If these incidents keep recurring, it will affect the image of Malaysia being a tourist destination since the possibility of having foreigners on the train during this unfortunate incident cannot be discounted. Furthermore it will only strengthen the stereotype against Malaysians of having a poor maintenance culture.

 
 

Finally, Dr Cheah urged the managing company to ramp up their maintenance towards their trains to avoid these kinds of incidents from happening in the future.

民政党中央环境、安全与生活素质局主任谢顺海医生认为，虽然已实行了月余的警察摩托巡逻队（URB）广受赞扬，反应令人鼓舞，但是仍有许多事项有待实行，以改善广大市民普遍认为已日益恶化的国内治安情况。

 
 

"我希望通过这一令人振奋的消息，警方可以此为平台与指南，以确保街道上的安全。然而，进行巡逻的警察人数仍是不足，而罪犯还是日益嚣张地在干案。"

 
 

谢顺海补充说，马来西亚人民非常怀念旧时候他们能与孩子在街道上行走而不必担心的日子。他说，反观现在即使在家里，公众也担心自身的安全，因此住家都会设有各类保安装置，如闭路电视、多层门锁和铁门围栏等，同时各地住宅区也开始自费设立保安服务。

 
 

"这应提醒警方有责任防止罪案不断地在我们的社会中发生。因此，我认为警察摩托巡逻队的数量必须增加，以便它可更有效地展开巡逻，并覆盖更多地区，避免现有的巡逻队过于分散，特别是华人农历新年即将来临，大部分华人都将回乡过年，很多的住宅区都会面对被爆窃的可能性，因此警方更应该加强巡逻工作。"

 
 

同时也是吉打州德卡区州议员的谢顺海指出，在警方努力预防罪案发生的同时，人民也必须扮演好自身的角色，在任何时候都保持警惕，尤其是听到狗吠声或发现身份不明和行迹可疑的人士在自己的地区附近徘徊时。

 
 

谢顺海说，预防胜于治疗，这些罪犯向来都会先观察他们的目标一段时间后才作出行动，因此我们必须采取各项预防的措施。

Gerakan Central Bureau on Environment, Safety and Quality of Life Chairman, Dr Cheah Soon Hai opines that while the recent praising report about the month old police motorcycle patrol unit (URB) viewed as encouraging, more needs to be done to address the deteriorating situation felt by the general public.

 
 

"I hope that with this encouraging news, the police can use this as a platform and guidance to ensure the safety of our streets. Nevertheless, the amount of police officers patrolling are still deemed inadequate and somehow criminals have become bolder as the day goes by."

 
 

Cheah added that Malaysians yearn for the old days where they and their children can walk on the streets without fear. He said that compared to places like Hong Kong and Singapore, the general public fear for their own safety even when at home hence the added security features such as CCTV's, locks and grills being installed together with the emergence of gated communities around the country.

 
 

"This should serve as a reminder to the government that they have the obligation to prevent fear and violence from seeping into our society. Therefore, I think that the amount of URB must be increased so that it can cover more ground preventing our patrolling unit from being overstretched. Furthermore, with the upcoming Chinese New Year festival next month, Chinese majority residential areas will be prone for break-ins as many will be returning to their hometowns."

 
 

Cheah also Kedah Derga state assemblyman pointed out that while the police played an enormous role in preventing crime, the public must also play their part by remaining vigilant at all times such as constant dog barking and unknown individuals seen wandering suspiciously in their vicinity.

 
 

Dr Cheah said, there is a tendency for these criminals to observe their targets for a considerable amount of time before executing their move, therefore precautionary measures must be taken. There is a saying of "Why cure when you can prevent."

民政党全国副主席马袖强今日呼吁各造在调查沙巴非法移民皇委会正在进行期间应保持耐心，不要随意给予任何评论，特别是只是参照证人的部分证词或当中的几句就断章取义进行评论，是不能涵盖有关事件的全部，反而制造不必要的争议。

 
 

 "因有关皇委会的调查工作还在进行中，各方必须自我克制，并给予皇委会更多时间，以便在没有受到任何干扰与分心的情况下完成调查。任何一方随意针对由一两位证人根据他们理解之证词而作出的评论，肯定并不能对有关事件提供一个清晰的画面。"

 
 

马袖强指出，我们只有在皇委会调查结束后，才能知道哪一方应为有关非法移民获得身份证的不负责任行为负责。

 
 

"我们应该耐心等候皇委会调查报告，因为仅仅凭几位证人的陈述便作出结论，将引起不必要的紧张情况及互相指责，而且也在浪费宝贵时间，我们应该是把时间与精力用在批评一些将对国家带来好处的事项。"

 
 

马袖强指出，首相纳吉成立沙巴皇委会调查该州的非法移民事件确实是一项果敢的举措，并值得赞扬。

 
 

"我对首相的决定感到满意，因为首相不仅展现了他所倡议的政府转型计划中所强调的'言出必行'与透明化，他也愿意揭露某些错误行为，尽管它可能对国阵不利。我相信，这能加强他的转型与改革决心，巩固他不怕作出艰难决定的形象。"

 
 

马袖强说，尽管拿督斯里安华在那段争论性的期间担任副首相，我们也必须耐心地等候皇委会对有关事件全面报告，各方要自我克制，勿胡乱作出评论，并给予安华机会对他在当时所扮演的角色作出解释。

Gerakan Vice President, Dato' Mah Siew Keong has called for patience to all quarters to refrain giving statements during the on-going RCI investigation in Sabah on illegal immigrants. He said that comments given by just referring to a few statements or part of the statement by the witnesses does not cover the entire scenario.

 
 

"Since the investigation is on-going, all quarters must exercise restraint to provide time for the RCI to wrap up its investigation without any distraction and interference. Simply commenting on a statement made by one or two witnesses according to their understanding will not do as it does not provide a clear picture."

 
 

Mah said that only after the conclusion of the investigation that we will be able to know which party is responsible for this irresponsible act regarding illegal immigrants receiving IC's in Sabah.

 
 

"Patience is a virtue. Simply jumping to conclusions based on merely a few witnesses' statements will create uninvited tension and finger pointing which I personally think is a waste of time. It is better to spend the energy of accusing on something that will bring benefit to the country."

 
 

Mah pointed out that the establishment of the RCI on Sabah illegal immigrants is indeed a brave move by Prime Minister Najib and worth praising.

 
 

"Impressed is the word that comes through my mind now. Not only is the Prime Minister showing how to walk the talk in accordance to the Government Transform Programme (GTP) and transparent policy, he is also willing to have certain dealings exposed although it might not be favourable to Barisan Nasional. This strengthens the reputation of him as a reformist and one who is not afraid to make tough decisions."

 
 

Finally, he reminded that even though it was Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's helm as Deputy Prime Minister during that controversial period, we should hold back from commenting until the full disclosure from the RCI while Anwar should also be given a chance to explain his role during that time.

Gerakan Kedah Chairman, Dr Cheah Soon Hai loathes the recent PAS-led Kedah state government's move on imposing restrictions on upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations such as only male performers are permitted, as for female performers only secondary school performers are allowed while adults are banned.

 
 

"This is a ridiculous rule forcibly imposed by the inconsiderate state government. How can they be so insensitive to the non-Muslims? About one of the rule stating that only religious songs can be played, what are they thinking? Isn't this supposed to be a Chinese New Year celebration? This is indeed an infringement on their fundamental rights that has been guaranteed in the Constitution."

 
 

Following the uproar from the non-Muslim particularly the Chinese community, the state government decided to U-turn on the rule.From the Menteri Besar Dato Seri Azizan statement only touching on dress code ,not addressing the issue of female artist is disappointing.

The district office on the other hand declaring that it is only applicable to Muslim organisations that wants to organise a Chinese New Year celebration.

This made us very confuse over the outdoor entertainment guideline and the state government directive.,

 
 

"This is another indication that the Pakatan Rakyat government is lying through its teeth as according to my sources, this rule has actually been there since Pakatan Rakyat took over in 2008."Now they claimed it was just an misunderstanding, pretending to believe that the applicant is a Muslim organisation.It is difficult to accept the argument because the applicant is a Chinese.

 
 

Cheah, also Kedah Derga state-assemblyman said that this is another conspicuous incident that the DAP and PKR are unable to stop PAS from imposing its will on the non-Muslims following the hair-salon incident in Kelantan.

 
 

"Up to this day, nothing has been done to protect the rights of the non-Muslims in Kedah following the forced demolition of the only pig slaughterhouse in Alor Setar."

 
 

He further claimed that rather than performing a U-turn on the ruling and giving many excuses to hide their real intentions, the state government should just rescind the law to prove its sincerity.

 
 

"I hope that the non-Muslims will be able to see through the devious character of the Pakatan Rakyat government on its Islamisation policies. Therefore, the people have to exercise their vote wisely in the coming general election in order to select a government that defends their rights instead of being blatantly ignorant."

民政党吉打州联委会主席谢顺海医生指出，民联吉打州政府针对农历春节团拜实施回教化限制条例事件曝光，并引起州内华团与民众哗然后，急急忙忙来个急转弯及诸多解释，是回教党向来所惯用的政治伎俩，企图脱身及撇清关系。

他说，从吉打州务大臣拿督斯里阿兹占的文告，避重就轻回应此事件，文中只提出模棱两可的端正服装，完全没有提及女艺人表演事件，没有一个明确的答案，感到非常的遗憾。

另一方面，根据县署发解释函称不知有关新春活动单位是华人，以为是马来人提出申请 ，才会有此误解，可以清楚看出吉打州政府还企图在此事件上乱编故事以蒙骗人民，说什么＂不知道申请的组织是华人社团，而误以为是马来团体＂ ，难道不能分辨申请者的华巫姓名，这简直是谎言！

也是德卡区州议员的谢顺海发表文告驳斥说，第一，马来团体怎么会申请准证举办华人农历新春团拜活动？第二，就算是当局错误以为是马来团体要办华人新春团拜说得通，那不是说明了吉打州政府正实施两套准则，对马来人与非马来人采用不同的准则，那岂不是"一州两制"？

他抨击伊斯兰党连同公正党及行动党早在2008年上台执政时，即迫不及待地通过上述伊斯兰化限制条例，只不过吉打华社被蒙在鼓里。

他说，以往华团组织在举办农历新春团拜及户外庆典时，一般上只照会警方，而没有向州政府行政当局提出申请，如今此事件曝光后，大家才恍然大悟，才知道吉打州民联政府一直锲而不舍地实施伊斯兰化政策，再次干预非穆斯林，尤其是华裔的农历新年庆典活动。

有鉴于此，谢顺海提醒吉打州华社及华裔选民，务须看清楚伊斯兰党领导的吉打州政府的霸道专横，这几年一意孤行地执行伊斯兰化政策及措施，目的就是向＂伊斯兰州＂的＂神圣＂目标挺进。

他劝请华社与非穆斯林选民，尤其是华裔应该醒觉，别再被伊斯兰党及其盟党行动党与公正党所蒙骗，并在来届大选中，以手中的一票拒绝这些对非穆斯林不公平与不合理，以及侵犯非穆斯林权益的政党。

Kedah Gerakan State Liaison Committee Chairman Dr. Cheah Soon Hai today severely condemned the Kedah state government for laying down all sorts of restrictions on this year's Chinese New Year celebration activities, forcefully imposing the restrictive policy on the lifestyle of non-Muslims.

 
 

Dr. Cheah said, according to the regulations that the Kedah state government has passed regarding the Chinese New Year celebration activities, we can see that the non-Muslim state Excos and ADUNs of DAP and PKR simply cannot argue on behalf of the rights and interests of the non-Muslims, but instead they let the PAS-led state government to do whatever they intend on the policy in Kedah.

 
 

Cheah who is also ADUN for Derga in Kedah said that as we all know, Chinese New Year all the while has been the major festival for the Chinese community, Chinese-based political parties, social organisations, temple committees and many more NGOs will each organising all sorts of celebration activities, while this situation has never been a problem while Kedah was under the Barisan Nasional's governance, but now the Pakatan Rakyat state government goes as far as to lay down all sorts of regulations on Chinese New Year celebration activities in accordance with the conservative policy, prohibiting female singer and artist to stage performances, only religion songs and cultural singing are allowed to be performed and large-scale celebration is banned.

 
 

Dr. Cheah said, it is regrettable that the outdoor entertainment guideline has eroded the rights and interests of the non-Muslims .The state government is insensitive and disrespect to the Chinese community.

 

Dr.Cheah pointed out what is most alarming is the regulation for the female artists
,which discriminate and bias towards the feminine gender
.Furthermore singing and dancing can be their careers and the families depend on its livelihood
and the new guidelines will definitely put on them in financial tight spot.

 

Dr.Cheah further added if the PAS-led Pakatan Rakyat government is adamant on imposing on the new outdoor entertainment guideline
,it will have the far reaching effects on other celebrations such as Chap Goh Meh,Ghost Festival ,Lantern Festival,Deepavalli etc.

 

Pakatan Rakyat usual tactic to find civil servant or previous government to blame does not apply here as the directive comes from the present Exco member.

 

Dr. Cheah urged the Kedahans to see clearly the true stripes of the Pakatan Rakyat state government, from demolishing the only pig slaughterhouse in the state by force, to ban on entertainment outlets during Ramadan, the amendment of Section 22A of the Mufti & Fatwa Enactment and now
meddling in the Chinese New Year celebration activities; it is now obvious that the Kedah state government is slowly Islamizing Kedah, therefore the voters should reject the tri-party Pakatan Rakyat that is upholding the Islamization policy as their governing agenda through the ballots in their hands in the coming general election.

民政党吉打州联委会主席谢顺海医生今日严厉谴责吉打州政府，限制华裔庆祝农历新年活动，不但诸多为难，而且强硬把伊斯兰化政策加诸在非穆斯林的生活作息上。

他指出，从吉打州政府通过的农历新年庆祝活动条例上，人们可以看到行动党及公正党的非穆斯林州行政议员及州议员，根本无能为力去为非穆斯林的权益与福利据理力争，而任由以伊斯兰党为首的州政府为所欲为地伊斯兰化吉打州。

也是吉打德卡区州议员的谢顺海说，众所周知，农历新年向来都是华人欢天喜地热烈庆祝的大节日，州内各地的华政党组织、社团会馆或神庙团体等都会举行各项大大小小的庆祝活动。

他续说，这种情况在国阵执政吉打州期间，从来都没有问题，如今民联州政府竟然对华人农历新年庆祝活动也要以伊斯兰化政策来诸多限制，例如不准女性歌手艺人呈献表演节目、艺人只允许演唱以卡拉OK版本音乐伴奏的歌曲，不能有乐队演出，只能选唱宗教与文艺歌曲及不能大事庆祝等等，这已经侵犯了华裔公民的基本权益，并对吉州内的非穆斯林社会非常不公平！

谢顺海说，令人遗憾的是，吉打州政府内的行动党及公正党非回教徒行政议员和州议员，对这项不合理的伊斯兰化政策，似乎视若无睹地让伊党为所欲为，他们没有反对，也显示他们不敢反对，造成非穆斯林的基本权益受到蚕食。

他不满其中的一项的条例，禁止成年女艺人上台表演和歌唱 ，这反映民联州政府对女性的歧视和不尊重 ，并严重的侵犯女性的权益。由于有些家庭是依靠演艺生存，他们的生计已经间接受到严重的影响及陷入经济的困境。

此外，他认为，民联政府一意孤行执行这项户外娱乐指南，必定会造成深远的影响，今后非穆斯林的其他庆典也会受到诸多限制，例如元宵节、中元节 ，中秋节 ，屠妖节和其他神诞的庆典等等。

谢顺海怀疑民联州政府一直强调伊斯兰化政策不会影响非穆斯林的保证，事实上在过去的4年多，民联州政府一直实行伊斯兰化政策和措施，不断侵犯非穆斯林的权益，干扰非穆斯林的生活习俗和打击他们的生计。

 

 

 

 

 

 

这次由掌管卫生及体育、文化艺术的行政议员拿督韩丹，白纸黑字向哥打士打县作出州政府的指示，公函强调所有演出须符合州政府所规定的指南。因此，他促请民联州政府承担责任，而不是以似是而非的模糊说辞推搪，最长用的借口就是把一切失策全归咎于前朝政府。

 

他劝告行动党和公正党议员认真看待民联州政府的伊斯兰政策在推行新政策 ，切勿推卸责任及归咎政府官员的失误，而今天所发生的事情是州政府发出训令，要地方政府遵守伊斯兰化的娱乐新条例。因此，他促请民联州政府承担责任，而不是以似是而非的模糊说辞推搪，最长用的借口就是把一切失策全归咎于前朝政府。

 

谢顺海呼吁吉打州人民看清民联州政府的卢山真面目，从拆除唯一的宰猪厂，小贩祈祷时间停业15-30分钟,到斋戒期间限制营业时间，再到宗教司和回教裁决理事会法案第22A条文的修正，目前出台更为苛刻的华人农历新年庆祝活动举行干预条例，可见吉州政府循序渐进地在伊斯兰化吉打州，因此选民应在来届大选中以手中选票拒绝以伊斯兰化政策为执政纲领的民联三党。

民政党中央环境、安全与生活素质局主任谢顺海医生对一名澳洲孕妇在万达镇附近的交通灯遭遇掠夺事件表示关注与同情事主。

 

“仅仅48小时前，也发生另一宗掠夺案件，涉及亚航机师与他的妻子，因此无可否认在人民眼中，我国的治安情况已在恶化中。更令人感到遗憾的是，受害者竟然是一名孕妇，幸亏该孕妇与及体内的婴儿都没遭受任何伤害，否则，我们很可能将面对来自国内外的严厉抨击。”

同样类似掠夺案件也同时发生了三宗在Alor Setar,令人提心吊胆！

 

谢顺海说，国内经常发生掠夺案，许多受害事主也可能没有报案，如今再添涉及外国人的掠夺案事件，因此警方务必提高他们的工作效率，以确保公众的安全。

 

“我认为，这起掠夺案事件涉及了外国人，肯定会影响马来西亚作为一个治安良好的国家及适宜外国人到来旅游的美好声誉。”

 

同时也是吉打州德卡区州议员的谢顺海说，比起实行一些措施，例如自动执法系统而引起人民的普遍不满，政府更应优先加强对民众安全的提升工作。 

 

“警察确实应加强他们的表现，因为这一些掠夺案事件已令我国作为一个安全与和平生活的国度蒙上污点。”

 

最后，他希望以上涉及掠夺案事件中的掠夺匪能很快被绳之于法，他也建议政府对有关罪行采取强制性的最低刑期监禁和更严厉的判刑。

Gerakan Central Bureau on Environment, Safety and Quality of Life Chairman, Dr. Cheah Soon Hai expressed his sympathy with the pregnant Australian, Karen Chuah after she fell victim to a snatch theft incident at a traffic light junction near Bandar Utama.

 
 

"With another reported similar case just 48 hours earlier involving an Airasia X pilot and his wife, it is undeniable that the security situation in our country is deteriorating rapidly in the eyes of Malaysians. What is even more regrettable is that the victim is a pregnant lady. Thank God, both the mother and baby are not physically harmed or else we might witness uproar from the international and local community."

 
 

Cheah, commented that with another one of many snatch theft cases in the country, the police must seek to improve their performance to ensure public safety is the number one priority.

 
 

"I think that this incident involving a foreigner will definitely affect Malaysia 's reputation as a safe country for foreigners to visit."

 
 

Cheah also Kedah Derga state assemblyman said that government should prioritise public safety over certain implementations like the AES cameras which only fuels their anger due to many weaknesses.

 
 

"The police should really beef up their performance, as all this cases will embarrass the country's standing as a safe and peaceful place for living."

 
 

Finally, he hoped that the perpetrators of the said above incident will be apprehended soon to face public justice. He also proposed the government to mete out a mandatory jail term and stiffer sentence for the offenders.

Gerakan Central Bureau on Environment, Safety and Quality of Life Chairman Dr. Cheah Soon Hai was appalled over the incident where 7 criminals managed to escape from the police escort in Penang. He said that criminal escape has happened more than once, the police should launch an in-depth investigation to find out the cause of the incident and give an explanation to the public.

 
 

Cheah pointed out that the police should really take a lesson from this incident, instead of keep letting the criminal escape happens repeatedly, this is not only a waste of manpower and resources to hunt down the fugitives, but also the people's security is threatened. The police should take severe action to punish police officers who were convicted of dereliction of duty in order to serve as a warning to other police officers and stop the similar incident from reoccurring.

 
 

Cheah who is also ADUN for Derga in Kedah said: "besides, the police should never be a cause to the escape due to their own negligence and disallow the family members of the criminals from sending them daily necessities in the future; this is the practice of putting the cart before the horse. The police should really adhere to SOP and beef up the security while escorting the criminals in order to prevent the criminals from escaping."

 
 

Cheah said the police should actively review and improve their work so that the people can be assured of a safe living environment.

针对槟州七名罪犯从警方押送中成功逃脱的事件，民政党中央环境、安全与生活素质局主任谢顺海大表震惊。他表示，罪犯逃脱事件已不只一次发生，警方应深入调查其中原委，并给予公众一个交代。

谢顺海指出，警方应从此次事件汲取教训，而不是一再地让罪犯逃脱事件发生，这不仅浪费人力物力去追捕逃犯，也使人民的安全受到威胁。警方也应严惩失职的警员，以警戒其他警员，避免再次发生类似事件。

谢顺海也是吉打州德卡区州议员，他说，"此外，警方也不应因自身的疏忽造成罪犯逃脱事件，而今后限制罪犯家人送日常用品予他们，这是本末倒置的做法。警方在押送罪犯时应遵照标准作业程序办事，并加强保安，以避免罪犯轻易逃脱。"

谢顺海表示，警方应积极检讨及改善，以让人民拥有一个安全的居住环境。

Gerakan Central Bureau on Environment, Safety and Quality of Life Chairman, Dr Cheah Soon Hai supports the government's recent move to increase the income limit for home applicants under the My First Home Scheme (SRP) to RM5000 and RM10000 for per household income.

 
 

"The government deserves applause for increasing the income limit to provide an opportunity to more young people to own a home. However, there is much more need to be done as handlings of one problem bring the rise of another relate problem."

 
 

Cheah pointed out that one of the drawbacks with the announcement above would be income earners below RM3000 might get less attention by banks due to the lower pay grade received by this group and therefore being categorised as being more risky to defaulting payments.

 
 

"I am worried that, banks will be more focused on the higher income earners in this scheme just because they are more financially stable and this group of earning RM3000 - RM5000 might swallow a large amount of affordable houses meant for those earning below RM3000. In the end it is the low middle-income earners who have to suffer again. Another group who might be left out are fresh graduates due to the fact that their starting pay is mostly below RM3000 and most of them come from outside the big cities. Therefore those who earn below RM3000 not only have to compete among themselves for a decent home but now also against those earning RM3000 - RM5000 putting enormous pressure on their life."

 
 

Cheah. also Kedah Derga State Assemblyman commented that the government should ensure that affordable houses built are located near to the city as it has become the magnet of many workers. Therefore it would be irrational to build affordable housing but with the location at city outskirts.

 
 

"It doesn't make sense to built houses far away from the city because buyers are forced to commute a long distance between their home and workplace putting a burden on their petrol bill as it is undeniable that our public transport system is one big mess. I mean who wants to travel 50km per day to their workplace?"

 
 

Finally, he urged to government to increase the amount of affordable houses to cope with the rising house price due to speculations and amount of young people entering the workforce every year.

民政党中央环境、安全与生活素质局主任谢顺海医生今日发表文告表示支持政府最近将"我的首间房屋计划"的申请者最高收入限额提高至5000令吉及每户家庭平均收入1万令吉。

 
 

"政府提高申请者的收入限额以提供一个机会让更多的年轻人能够拥有自己的家，这一举措是值得大家所赞赏的。然而，还是有许多需要做的，因为往往我们解决了一个问题，却将引起其他相关的问题。"

 
 

谢顺海指出，这项宣布中的其中一项缺点便是，收入在3000令吉以下的年轻人将可能较少受到银行的关注，主要原因是他们属于低收入的一群，因此将被归类为无法偿还债务者。

 
 

 "我担心在提高收入限额后，银行将更专注于在这个计划中的较高收入的申请者，因为他们在经济上更稳定，而这群收入在3000 令吉与5000令吉之间者将可能抢购大部分原为那些收入低于3000令吉的年轻人而建造的较廉价房屋。最后，中下收入的年轻人将仍继续受苦。而另一组可能会被忽略的一群，则是那些刚刚从大学毕业出来社会工作者，因为他们的起薪大多低于3000令吉，并且都是来自大城市之外。因此，这些收入低于3000令吉的年轻人，为了能够拥有一间好的房屋，不仅必须互相竞争，他们更需与收入介于3000令吉及5000令吉的一群竞争，因此为他们的生活带来更大的压力。"

 
 

同时也是吉打州德卡区州议员的谢顺海说，政府应确保所建造的负担得起房屋是位于城市的附近，因为它已成为许多打工一族的聚集地。因此，把负担得起的房屋建造在郊外地区是不理想的。

 
 

"把房屋建造在郊外地区是没有意思的，因为购房者将被迫在上下班时都穿梭长距离路程，而增加他们在汽油上的负担，因为无可否认的，我们的公共交通系统确实还不是很完善。谁愿意每日穿梭50公里来回上班？"

 
 

最后，他促政府建造更多负担得起的房屋，以克服国内屋价节节上涨，以及每年都有很多年轻人踏入社会工作而对房屋的需求。

民政党吉打州主席谢顺海医生今日对吉打民联州政府近日提出3000公顷土地供华校、淡米尔学校及宗教学校申请，以便与政联企业（GLC）联营种植业，进而增加学校收入一事表示质疑。

他指出，众所周知，大选近在眉睫，吉打州政府此时此举是完全没有诚意的，实乃缓兵之计，为了大选捞取选票。

也是吉打州德卡区州议员的谢顺海说3000公顷的森林土地借出去，必须砍伐所有的树木方能种植果树，州政府目的明显，意在树桐，"吉打州政府的司马昭之心，路人皆知。从伊斯兰党执政州政府至今，他们完全没有完善的发展计划，现在提出变相的借地养校，只不过是为了合理化砍伐森林计划，增加收入，而不是有诚意协助华社。"

况且砍伐的树木出售后获得的盈利是否分于学校？。

谢顺海指出，根据股权分配报导，州政府联营公司 GLC占55%，而学校占45%。但现今州政府联营公司GLC没有良好的记录，很多投资事项都蒙受亏损，挥霍州财库，可谓投资哪个亏那个。例如在巴布亚新畿内亚的计划和在澳洲进行一场牧牛场计划都以惨败告终。试问我们是否还应相信当今州政府联营公司GLC公司呢？

谢顺海也表示，州政府能拨款四百万令吉资助州内宗教学校与耗资3.5亿令吉建设瓜拉吉底的英沙尼亚伊斯兰教大学。若州政府有诚意协助华社及印社，那就应该直接拨款或拨地，而不是再通过借地养校的方式。

谢顺海指出，州政府在早前也曾提出联营重建宰猪场而后变成"以猪养校"的概念，但到最后还是不了了之。因此，人民应看清吉打州政府的用意，不要再被蒙骗。
